“It’s been nearly two weeks since the Eclipse Cannon exploded.
Two weeks since Robotnik and Shadow had sacrificed themselves.
Two weeks since Sonic and Shadow had talked on the moon.
In just two weeks after the Eclipse Cannon explosion, everything has seemed to go back to normal. Green Hills is safe, and Tom’s injuries will be fully healed in a couple more weeks now, so his family is safe, too. And overall, they haven’t seemed to dwell too much on everything that had happened. At least, not anymore.
But Sonic hasn’t stopped thinking about it. His mind seems to run faster than he can nowadays, and he really can’t keep up no matter how hard he tries.”

Basically a mix of all my favorite live-action sonadow tropes I’ve been seeing and based off ideas I’ve read in other fics I’ve enjoyed. My own take on the ‘Sonic misses Shadow and then Shadow reappears and they have to hide that they’re meeting each other and slowly falling in love’ thing, if you will.

Shadow looked like vengeance incarnate, chiselled from black glass and hellfire, with all the charm of a ticking time bomb.
And Sonic hated—hated—how good it looked on him.
“Nope,” he muttered, swerving past a piece of twisted metal. “Absolutely not. No. Ick. He’s the worst. Leaves soap scum in the sink. Folds towels like he’s smuggling state secrets.”
Amy’s voice came through the comms, far too casual. “Are you listing turn-offs again?”
“They’re not turn-offs if you’re not turned on!”
They’ve broken up three times, divorced twice, called it quits once, got back together once because Shadow forgot to file the paperwork, and once because Sonic bet he could beat Shadow in a race for a date night. There was also that brief “we’re just rivals who happen to share a bed” phase that lasted exactly two days before someone threw a shoe. Either way, their relationship status is basically a complicated math problem with no solution, and everyone else has given up trying to keep score. Every time they try to move on, fate—or maybe just bad timing—drags them back in, kicking and snarling.

Summary

But after a chance encounter at the gym, they start to see each other in a new light.
When a sparring session between them goes viral—fueling a heated fan debate over who’s stronger—their rivalry explodes on social media. But after Shadow is caught in a scandal with Rouge the Bat, he’s forced into damage control, landing a spot on the reality show Duet or Duel—paired with none other than Sonic. Under the spotlight, their rivalry takes center stage… but something else starts to spark behind the cameras.
("Duet or Duel" – A show where entertainment figures from different industries pair up for challenges—one musical, one physical—forcing them to collaborate outside their comfort zones.) It's a fake TV show, but you can use the concept if you want, if anybody wants to use it for their own fics?
