It wasn’t Hal’s fault. Really.
He didn’t know.
When Hal first met Flash, he didn’t pay attention to the guy at all. He wasn’t even curious about him. Maybe if he had been, he would have known from the beginning that he wasn't even a guy.
Or in which Hal assumed that Flash, who pretends to be a man because reasons, was a man and had a sexuality crisis over it. Of course, everyone has a good laugh about it too.
