“Well yeah,” Venti said as he walked into the office. “There’s demonic magic and its counterpart, celestial. Magic can be drawn from the earth itself— and spirits, but that usually delves into stuff like necromancy, which is a big no-no in every single faction out there. And then of course there’s witches and magical creatures like… A DRAGON?!”
The blood drained from Venti’s face as it struck him that those feelings from earlier had not simply been, “just nerves.” His whole body shook as he stared at the creature on the office floor, barely managing to pull himself together to put the coffee tray down on his desk before rushing forward and kneeling. He froze, unsure of what to do. Ganyu and Yanfei were yelling something but it was all fuzz in Venti’s ears. The only sense in his body still working, it seemed, were his olfactory organs.
It smelled like a witch.

5 times Zhongli (who got himself cursed, of all things) was attacked by a cryptid and 1 time he struck first. With additional flashback interludes to further the drama. Sequel to, "Where Have All The Good Men Gone?"

He unlocked the door, taking care to be quiet, opening it and slipping out into the golden dusk, shutting it quickly. He glanced around and held his breath, listening. Nothing moved. He stole across the patchy yard, avoiding various objects scattered amongst the weeds. He glanced back as he slipped out the wooden gate. His foot caught on something and he stumbled, dropping to his knees on the concrete. He scrambled up and bumped into something.
No.
Someone.
His mouth opened but only a strangled squeak emerged, as a large hand seized him by the throat, forcing him back into the yard. He grimaced and grabbed the hand, trying to pull it away, but it tightened painfully. He was dragged back and shoved back into the kitchen, slamming into the counter. Pain radiated from his back as he gasped and choked, coughing. He was pinned against the counter by the large man. Light glinted off a knife as the flat side was pressed against his cheek.
"Venti. We've talked about this. You belong to me."
