Summary
There was no power in the universe that could have made Izuku attend the reception. He was just about to try and unobtrusively retreat when he felt the novel sensation of someone smacking a cane into the back of his shins. The power behind that strike had nearly sent him to his knees.
"So!" It was the old man who decided to confront Izuku. "Midoriya Izuku. What brings you here?"
Izuku was only moderately surprised that the man knew his name. It wasn't so odd that someone would recognize him; He had been an activist for various causes — most notably advocating for the Quirkless — for the last decade. Nothing that made him famous famous, but known enough in certain circles.
"I received an invitation," he offered.
The man scoffed at that. "So now you deign to respond to your mail?"

Izuku stood up carefully to avoid Ms. Natta seeing his purple ankle. He offered her his hands so she could stand up and test out her healed joints.
“Ah! What a wonder that quirk of yours is. I’m surprised you’re not a surgeon by now.”
“Well, it doesn’t work like that, Obasan.” Besides, his hands shook too much for that line of work. “But thank you for the compliment. Now, off you go to the check-out station, you’re all set. Have fun at Mahjong.”
She pushed up onto her tip toes and kissed his cheek with a soft arm pat. “You’re such a good young man.”
“Don’t come back too soon.”
“Oh, I can dream.”
