“Up, up, a little more. You can do it.” Izuku’s lip peeled up in a snarl. He didn’t like the tone they were using. It was too condescending, like they pitied Izuku for something while also finding him incompetent. Izuku snapped his head up with a vicious growl on his lips, only to be met with the face of Tomura Shigaraki. Izuku blinked. That wasn't possible. Shigaraki was dead. Izuku should know, he’d killed the man himself.
“How?” Izuku gasped, realizing just then that his throat was so raw he could hardly form words.
“I can explain that.” Another voice called from the door. Izuku’s bleary eyes snapped over to the doorway, finding Dabi leaning against the frame. What the hell was going on?

Any background noise Katsuki had been making stopped. Izuku didn’t realize the implications of what he’d just told Katsuki. Izuku didn’t actually realize the implications of being on the roof in the first place. What had driven him up here, what dark spot in his mind drew him here, instead of say - a park? Katsuki must have realized it before Izuku could piece it together.
“Stay on the phone, Izuku, I’m coming to you. Are you on the old bench?”
“Mhmm.”
“You keep your ass on that bench until I get there or so help me God, Izuku.”

The knife was dangled from his fingers in an offhand threat to whomever was at the door, but Izuku didn’t look up.
“Uhh, no one told me it was your day off- do villains even get days off? Do we get holiday pay?” Izuku sighed as Giran’s voice entered the bar.
Setting down his mug, Izuku folded one leg over the other and glared at Giran with shameless hostility.
“Are those… bunny slippers?” Giran asked.

Waking up to an emergency call, being sent out to the rural foothills along with most of the heroes in Japan for a devastating landslide emergency that was ravaging the countryside mountains and taking hundreds of lives. It had been a full rescue effort. Few heroes in the country had quirks that would suit a landslide, though more than a few tried to contain or stop the tragedy from getting worse. In the end, it was mainly a body recovery and rescue mission.
