Seregil hummed thoughtfully. “Well,” he said, “I suppose we stay here a day or two, pack our things and say our goodbyes properly.” A guilty expression flashed across his face. “Send word to Runcer to carry on as he has, keeping the household running in our absence. And then…” he shrugged. “Go somewhere no one knows our names or faces. Make an honest living. Or a dishonest one. We could—”
Alec listened to him list off practical plans for as long as he could bear before crossing the distance between them in two long strides. His hands curled into the front of Seregil’s shirt to hold him close as he sealed their lips together, cutting him off mid-sentence. Seregil made a startled sound against his mouth before returning the kiss enthusiastically.
“Ah,” Seregil said when Alec came up for air, still so close that their breath intermingled. “You meant right now.”
Alec doesn't quite have the finer points of this whole "loving another man" thing figured out yet, but he's a fast learner.
