Summary
One night after a party at their flat, James Potter realises—all at once, and entirely unwelcomely—that he might just have feelings for his best mate.
Good thing Sirius has been waiting years for James to figure it out.
Merlin—he looked beautiful lying there. Sirius was the painting of a saint: stretched out like a sunning lion on their living room floor, haloed by cigarette smoke and strobing party lights.
James couldn’t help but wonder how Renaissance artists would’ve depicted Sirius if they’d caught a glimpse of him tonight, with his shirt half buttoned, dripping wet with sweat, with his legs spread and—
Fuck. He was down bad.
OR
A short 'n sweet Prongsfoot getting-together fic loosely based on “After the Party” by The Menzingers. Dual POV. Lots of pining.

Summary
Amid the glittering splendour of a society affair, Euphemia's well-intentioned meddling thrusts Sirius into a front-row seat for James' courtship, forcing him to decide whether to stay silent or risk everything to claim the future he wants.
James winced, his attention diverting to his mother as her elbow, sharp and impossible to ignore, found his ribs. Her expression was tinged with self-satisfaction and just a hint of conspiracy when she leaned in close to murmur something meant for his ears only. Then she straightened with a pleased little smile, and extended her arm toward the young woman who just then joined them. Sirius' gaze followed the motion to the newcomer, appraising by reflex.
She was, objectively speaking, quite pretty. But vapid, he decided, afflicted with the same sort of glossy emptiness as half the posh nobs in attendance. Nothing much going on behind those eyes. Hardly James' type.
His gaze flicked back to James to verify this assessment – and instead found betrayal. The look of polite boredom had vanished, replaced by a flicker of something that looked suspiciously like interest. Sirius felt the smile slide from his face.

Summary
His father named him in the traditions of their people, the proud hill tribes of the Hawk and Gryphon who worshipped the Silver Lady of the night and roamed the purpled heather of the moorlands on boar-back since before the first magic word was spoken. His mother, the priest-queen, called him Lissar—golden, for his shining hair, but it was not his name. Few would ever know his name, in life or in history, or even in myth.
