She feels the bowl shift as his fingers pick through, a little plink as he drops the green-shelled ones back. She feels him holding himself up, tense and wary beside her. She shifts her feet until they're tucked against his thigh, rests the bowl on top. "There," she says, and rests her head on her arm, propped on the edge of the sofa. "Now we can share."
He doesn't move. He doesn't say anything, but he doesn't move, and that's when Belly knows he'll let her do this.
