Vampires: Rumor and folklore makes them out to be creatures of myth and legend, capable of supernatural feats like healing from nearly any wound, flying across the countryside, incredible feats of strength. Tales say they dissolve into ash in the sun, that they're monstrous hunters, that they never age.
In reality however, vampires are far more mundane- merely a human-adjacent species with some very particular dietary requirements, and some unusual physical features to complement those needs. In modern society, with high-quality sunscreen, easy access to blood without hunting, and all the accommodations available with modern life, they might as well be fully human.
Of course, when Senkuu emerges from petrification 3700 years into the future, it's very much a different story -

Dio had, at this point, accepted the existence of the strange blue puppy who showed up to bring him food and offer him comfort every full moon, who seemed uncannily intelligent, who seemed to age far more slowly than a puppy should. Mother had confirmed the existence of the trinkets the puppy had brought him, so he couldn't be merely imagining it. Still, there were so many mysteries around the tiny dog- mysteries he refused to let rest.
