Summary
It was on the sunniest day of the most bountiful summer that had befallen Oz in decades that the estranged half of Jayce the Good’s soul melted into nothing.
Flowers bloomed in the fields surrounding the small county of Zaun, and their aromatic pollen flitted in the bell-ringing breeze as Zaunites burst from their homes with children and spouses in tow, cheering to the gods above for the death of Jayce’s purpose of being.
He was there, now. Floating above it all in a slow descent, Jayce watched their dance and heard their song.
He was not ready for the speech he was about to give, and he doubted he ever would be. But he knew it had to be done, and once it was, he could wash his hands of them all, for good.

“Hey, Joel, there's a package out here.” Jimmy called.
“Who’s it from?” Joel asked, laying underneath Jimmy's beat-up car, busy patching up an oil leak.
“Uh… it doesn’t say.” He replied. Joel got out from under the sorely loved Toyota and crossed the length of his garage to stand beside Jimmy.
“That’s weird,” Joel grunted. The package was heavy, and wrapped in plain brown paper that rubbed against Joel's oil-stained hands. Without a second thought, he tore back the packaging. His eyes fell onto an old, worn book with a purple gash on the front.
“That’s kind of creepy,” Jimmy chuckled.
The gash twitched upon the leather cover and slowly blinked open, a purple pupil boring into Joel.

Leo is, unfortunately, dead. Which, yeah, it sucks. What sucks more, though, is wandering the fields of asphodel and waiting to forget himself so he can finally stop feeling so sorry for himself for not doing enough to make it into Elysium. But no matter how hard he tries, he can’t stop remembering.
And then Jason dies, and he ends up in the fields, too, and Leo knows something is wrong. If anyone should’ve made it into Elysium, it would be Jason.
Nico can feel it; Leo and Jason, both dead, both crawling just at the edge of the void. He knows they are dead, that he is sure. But they’re not at rest.
Will is getting worried. He knows Nico is in mourning, which can be made especially complicated as a son of Hades, but as a doctor, he’s pretty sure that slowly going blond is not part of the process.

During a trip to the mountains to gather data for a research project, university student Jayce Talis is caught in a snowstorm his dingy old car is not equipped to handle. Venturing through the snow, he stumbles upon the isolated cabin of the eclectic and stunningly captivating Viktor, a fellow scholar of earth and environmental science. Stuck with each other until the storm ceases and the road down the mountain defrosts, feelings begin to stir between the two men.
