So when Wei Wuxian returns to find his husband hard-pressed and badly outnumbered, at the head of a battle line that is faltering, he reaches for his flute and not his sword.
I just love how you write everything with an emotional sense of urgency. I have been blazing through this fic so quickly and I think it's largely because you write Wei Ying as someone who is compelled to action. He needs to work hard, he can't afford to slack off, doesn't even think of it. He is all too aware of the dangers that await and he needs, personally needs, to be able to meet them.

Approaching this particular experience, his primary emotion was still ‘dread.’
