The problem with living in this kind of painful darkness for so long is that when something happens and it’s greater than every single thing you’ve witnessed or that has happened to you in the past, it might destroy you for good.
There’s that sensation of being always on the edge of falling into the void without a parachute nor a way to come back either sane or at least intact body and soul wise.

Summary
Soap’s fingers can now be clearly seen under the dim light. They are slowly tracing Soap’s hole, teasing it then... then they retreat, but not for too long as two of them are suddenly swallowed by what can only be another hole. Ghost’s knees feel wobbly out of a sudden and he unconsciously leans onto the wall for a few seconds, to regain his balance. He swallows hard, biting his lower lip under the mask and closing his eyes for a bit. The sound of Soap fingering his pussy gets louder and louder and Ghost takes another short look at the sight then he decides it’s enough. Feeling his body trembling and heavy, Ghost closes the door as silently as he can, with only a small click sound escaping.

Summary
The Task Force 141 boys went through a long, exhausting and fucked up mission. They get back to the base, where they're being dismissed for a couple of days, getting some well deserved rest.
There's only one problem and it's mainly Soap's - the fact that their group chat lacks Ghost's interractions. Soap finds out Ghost's not even in their group chat and it turns out no one knows his phone number.
Therefore, Soap wraps his mind around the one and only current mission - to get Ghost's number. It becomes his own personal mission during their free days around the base, and soon, feelings get involved and Soap's initial mission turns into several ones.

But Ghost didn’t seem to mind, quietly filling the kettle before setting it to boil, those dark eyes watching as John paced the kitchen, one arm flailing about in the air, the other locked tight around his half-melted pint of rocky road.
He told Ghost he was stressed. That the entire MacTavish clan was coming into town, which meant awkward hugs, judgmental stares, and nosy questions from people he hadn’t seen in years. John could handle all of that, he really could.
But what he couldn’t handle was the questions. Why he hadn’t settled down yet, why he didn’t have a nice Scottish girl on his arm.
Why he wasn’t married with a child on the way, because Ethel and James weren’t getting younger, and John was already too old. For fuck’s sake.
“Maybe I don’t want to bring home a wee lass,” John had snapped, voice cracking as he dug his spoon in harder than necessary, a brown, congealed clump of freezer-burned rocky road flying onto the floor. “Maybe I don’t even like women, has anyone considered that?”
And there, in less than twenty words, John had completely outed himself.
