    Just like the many amazing Slytherin Harry Potter fics, this is my take on what would happen if Harry Potter was just a little bit smarter, a little bit crueler, and acted a little bit more like the Slytherin we knew he could be.

    Takes inspiration from too many stories to count, but includes tropes like Slytherin Harry, awesome goblins, Dumbledore bashing, and Harry destroying any machinations laid out for him simply by existing and giving things a second thought. He refuses to be anybody's puppet.

    After Harry was introduced to the wizarding world, some red flags were raised and questions left unanswered, so he decided to ditch his babysitter and return to Diagon Alley unsupervised. Harry returned to the bank and found that Dumbledore had been manipulating everything from behind the scenes. Eager to leave the Dursleys behind, Hadrian - he learned his name was - will do whatever it takes to get out from under Dumbledore's thumb, even if it means walking a darker path than expected of the Wizarding world's Savior.

    Sequel to Harry and the Snakes.

    Harry runs away after using accidental dark magic on his aunt Marge. He goes to the leaky cauldron, paying for a night there. Shalis and him go to Diagon alley the next day, there they find a book of every dark spell that's been recorded. Shalis tells him he must get it. (Important to the future parts.)
    Snape finds Harry alone, unprotected, and jumpy. He realizes why Harry ran away; decides he can't trust anyone else to care for a child with ptsd. Because Snape understands what Harry is going through, he takes him in and tries his best to care for him.
    They return to Hogwarts after a few months. Harry's panic attacks haven't gotten better. (the dementor are replaces with panic attacks and other episodes) Remus and Snape argue over who is best fit to raise him when Remus finds out Snape has been caring for him. Remus wants to take harry in and raise him with Sirius. Harry doesn't know how to or who to choose.

    Draco sent a snake at Harry during a duel in Chamber of Secrets. He never expected Harry to tame it. Harry never expected to be ridiculed for saving a student from a snake attack.
    Harry has to navigate isolation from his house, the possibility of being resorted to Slytherin, and the Chamber of Secrets all while dealing with a sassy snake.
    Featuring Shalis the snake being a menace. :)
