    Thirteen years ago, the infamous murderer nicknamed The Gun Devil appeared. Among their many, many victims was Hayakawa Aki's family. Perhaps if that didn't happen, he wouldn't become a detective in Tokyo's unluckiest police unit, chasing after a criminal that seemingly disappeared. Maybe if that didn’t happen, he wouldn’t meet the heavenly-looking forensic pathologist. But there’s no reason in thinking about all the ifs and maybes when a string of seemingly unconnected deaths suddenly starts making a pattern. Now Aki has to solve that case with a pair of very annoying teenagers, mildly helpful coworkers and a very beautiful but lazy Angel from forensics.
