    “I could ask the same,” he replied evenly. His voice carried no anger, only certainty.

    Scar’s laughter rang out again, bright and sharp. “Is this the same howl from another dog?"

    After Scar’s infiltration of Septimont, he hadn’t expected Mingting’s response to be so swift—or so he thought. He wondered why they sent him a blind man instead of an executioner. What he didn’t expect was that they were one and the same.
