    It's an emergency

    Heart thundering, Eddie taps the call button and presses it to his ear. It rings, rings, rings and then the line goes dead, the call left unanswered. Eddie’s on his feet, keys in hand and forcing his feet into half-tied shoes before he even realises he’s stood up. He presses the call button again, but this time it ends on the first ring. Fuck, has someone taken Buck’s phone? Buck always picks up unless something is seriously wrong.

    EDDIE: Call me

    BUCK (WORK): No nonononon not that kind of emergency
    Can’t call. Theo asleep on my stomach. If he wakes up all hell will break loose.

    EDDIE: You’re ok?

    BUCK (WORK): Yes. no one is dying sorry sorry
    It’s a dad emergency

    or: Theo's birthday plans take a turn for the worse. Eddie's right there to get them back on track.
