Summary
Stede bonnet sits alone on a sandy beach, gazing out at sea, and observing ships entering and departing port. He was turning 12 years old today, although no one in the Bonnet family seemed to care. Due to Edward Bonnet decreed earlier that morning that this day should be utilized for grief rather than happiness.
Tears began to fill up in his eyes, he pressed his lips together in an attempt to keep noise from coming out, but he failed, and a pathetic cry slipped from his mouth.
Behind stede, a voice asks, "Why are you crying?" Stede turned around to face a boy with black hair.
