Pressed against his chest, Phainon has refused to leave Mydei alone the entire day. He’s seen the times when Mydei would be in Okheman nurseries, looking longingly at the babies within. Seen Mydei’s soft and nurturing tendency with children. He’s practically a mother himself in the way he cares for the people around him.
”He deserves this.”
Phainon finds himself thinking. An opportunity to be tender and gentle, a chance to raise a family of his own. He pulls Mydei closer, already rubbing a calloused hand over his abdomen. Baby or not, they’re a family. The little chimeras have been staying with them too, cuddled by Mydei and no longer scratching at Phainon. It is content.
“Is that so? Then porridge and fruits will be all you eat for the coming months Deliverer.”
