And that’s when she saw him, four years older and seemingly transformed by them. But that didn’t matter. Mikasa would know him anywhere, at any time, in any place. She would know him in death, at the end of the world, through any moment of time that he could find her. Her soul leapt as she stared at him, as if recognizing a part of itself that was somehow still alive, even through everything.
Eren Jaeger stood at the edge of the doorway, staring at Mikasa as if he had never seen her before.
