✅️ (read my ch 1 comment) SZ right before reuniting w/ DJX is reminiscing about her memories of DJX (brotherly & doing his job to treat sports injuries). She wants to hold on to her first love memories even though she knows she is destined to forget him...(at least that's what she thinks...bc she doesn't know DJX is destined to be hers only yet). When she is moving on "getting easier" (living her normal college life), she reunites w/ DJX & when she was about to give up by only seeing him as a brother, DJX realized his feelings & takes care/pursues her.

✅️ Cute nerdy/goofy Colin hyper-focused on only Pen, not Marina (she is a decent & irrelevant person in this story). The Thomsons are former neighbors w/ Marina being an only child who liked to play by herself & never fitted well w/ the Bridgerton chaos. Thomsons & Bridgertons were friendly but kept to themselves. Pen would visit for a week yearly at her cousin's house during their childhood & befriended Colin & Eloise but they lost contact as Thomsons moved away. Colin & Eloise along w/ all the Bridgertons are close to Pen while Marina isn't close/barely joins them reluctantly/ distantly. Both casually experienced but only special to each other - Colin & his family didn't like his ex, Clara who has been already been broken up w/ a 2 weeks before reuniting w/ Pen & she was just a casual fling/toxic mutual hatred who was image-driven/full of herself so much that Colin's family calls her "what's-her-face who is out of the picture" + Colin quickly moves on to Pen seriously & "there isn't much to tell" bc it wasn't love or anything sincere. Colin had supressed his grief unknowingly by helping his siblings after their dad died so he felt depressed when Daphne was getting married & Edmund couldn't be there. So during Anthony's wedding, he had went traveling & brought Clara to distract him from feeling grief. Unfortunately, she distracted him in a toxic way by telling him to drink to feel at ease & taking to their room away from his family which basically ruined the time he was supposed to support Anthony's special day & Colin felt deeply regretful that he let such a toxic person control him when he felt sad about his dad. Colin searches for Pen & fall hard (he immediately thinks Pen is beautiful, attractive & radiant). Colin hadn't remembered Pen until his mom's attic picture jogged his memory but got obsessed w/ finding Pen immediately bc he has soft spot for Pen from the beginning of their childhood + Eloise also hadn't thought of Pen in a long time but immediately recognized her picture -> they had forgotten Pen bc they only saw her for a week per year for 3 years back 20 years ago but naturally forgot as more time accumulated & they got busy w/ life. Pen also didn't recognize Colin at first & never searched for them even though the Bridgertons still live in the same house as she also got busy & more time went by but warmly greeted Colin.
