Summary
“Jay is starting to wonder if he made a mistake. It isn’t that he’s having second thoughts or truly doubting he made the right call but just - why did no one tell him the monastery was on top of a mountain? It sits up so high that when the clouds roll by, sparse but fluffy, they block it from view. This place is literally above the clouds.
Seriously, when Wu extended the invitation to live and train with him at the monastery, a heads up would have been nice.”

Summary
There comes a time in most friendships where two people become so close they are confused for a couple. It's not uncommon; and many people take it differently. But what Cole is wondering, why did that common misconception start making his heart flutter out of nowhere one day.
There wasn't any perceivable change between them, somehow, something changed in him. He had no clue when this had happened but Cole started noticing little details about Jay Walker: a particular freckle that lies right below his hairline that Cole now looks for when the blue ninja pushes hair out of his face, how Jay folds his sleeves exactly 3 times when they annoy him, the way his face lights up talking about electronics and the various little gadgets he liked making. They were little things that made him smile. Over time, Cole noticed he was smiling more and more.

Summary
The thumping of his heart struck him thicker as his best friend became completely surrounded by darkness, his body and piercing, panicked eyes leaving sight.
In the chaos of the moment, Jay’s usually steady hands trembled, and his senses seemed to warp. He didn’t even need to think twice about letting go of his rope too, the wind pushing against his body as he began falling face first towards the ground, at a speed much more rapid that what he’d seen Cole fall at just mere seconds ago.
