    “Who’s the lucky lady?” Dally asked instead, because he may not get much action in Tulsa, but he knew the signs to look out for. Sure enough, a blush rose to Darry’s cheeks at the words and he turned away, making his way as quickly as possible for the front door.

    “I don’t know what you mean, Winston. You’re high, probably seeing shit.”

    “Sure,” Dally agreed, letting Darry go. The front door slammed shut after him and Dally huffed, putting out his cigarette on the porch next to him and rising to his feet.

    The sound of the engine had started up again as soon as Darry had stepped inside, and Dally watched as the car drove past the Curtis house. The windows had been rolled up, so Dally couldn’t get a clear look at the driver, but he recognized the well-groomed hair and bright yellow sweater of the Soc well enough.

    Huh.

    AKA 5 times a Greaser realized Darry had someone, and the 1 time Darry realized he had someone.
