The ED team shuffles out, Whitaker and Dr. Robby taking up the rear. Dr. Robby stops him with a hand on Whitaker’s waist, there and gone. “Really,” he says low, directly into his ear, beard scratching his cartilage, “that was amazing. You didn’t waste any time starting compressions. That probably saved that baby’s life. You saved that baby’s life.”
The praise goes to his head, suffusing him with endorphins. “Thank you, Dad.” And he promptly wants to crawl out of his skin and slither down the drain with the after birth slop.

Summary
Peter pulled himself over the railing and collapsed into a heap, head spinning. He still couldn't catch his breath, gasps he had no control over tore through his body. All strength sapped from his limbs. He lay in a shivering pile on the concrete. The wind whistled loudly through all of the tower’s loops and curves. It was all Peter could hear. That and the thunder of his own heartbeat in his ears. 'I'm dying’ Peter thought again. Seconds passed, or maybe days. His mask felt like it was constricting around him, soaked with tears and spit and snot, but he couldn't make his mind pull the strings of his body to remove it. He clawed uselessly at his face and neck. He had had panic attacks before, but never like this. This must be something new, something different. This one would really kill him.
Through the haze he realised someone had been saying his name.
“Peter?”
A warm voice. Kind.
“Peter?”
Steve finds Peter in the throes of a panic attack and does his best to comfort him. When the worst has passed and in the clean light of morning, they begin to talk. Talk more than Steve has talked to anyone in 80 years.

Summary
Apollo Justice is far from normal, farther than what you already know about him. So long are the days in the courtroom, and instead, he's running around in funny spandex, sometimes to save the city one crime at a time or running away from the cops, like all heroes do.
Klavier Gavin is about the same as you'd think, though his goals have been altered slightly. It's no easy feat to get hired at East Sandwich's leading news source, the Daily Samurai, yet somehow, he made it through the hiring process with ease. He's your everyday average reporter, the kind that dives into danger head first and doesn't actively try interviewing the heroes like they're supposed to.
Several months have passed since they first met. It's been a long journey to end up where we're about to begin. There will be a lot of pain and misery for both of them, and a lot of insufferable third wheeling from those who are roped into their denial as they try to sort out their feelings.
And it all starts with a little robbery.
