Summary
Al Haitham leaves him notes in books, and apologizes with the wine. Leaves his keys by the door, in the same place that Kaveh does. They do their laundry together, and share all the food. They sleep together, even if never wake up like this, and run around each other, waiting for a moment to kiss, touch, get each other all hot and bothered.

“I can’t look at you the same way,” he admitted. “It makes me feel ashamed. Like I destroyed something good.” Once again was left unsaid. “The—we are not friends,” he pointed out quickly and a blush creeped onto his face. Ah, it sounded so silly. “But—it was good, between us.”
They fought less, in a way. Bickered all the time, obviously, but there wasn’t anything weird about that. They were always like this. They would get coffee together, eat meals, talk like they used to do.
And then, alcohol came to the play. And then, of course, Kaveh felt brave and comfortable enough to joke a bit too much, and maybe he just missed another body close to him.
“It still is,” Al Haitham answered. “Good.”

Tighnari looks visibly concerned, which is probably a sign that Kaveh should shut up now, but he can’t help but keep going.
“Like, you can’t do anything without thinking of this one person. You can’t go a single day or a single hour without something reminding you of them, even when you want nothing more than to never have to think about them again. And it’s just terrible and awful, because what if I want to just be alone? I can’t even be alone in my own head, because he’s always in it!”
Tighnari purses his lips. “So this is about Al-Haitham.”
“What is that supposed to mean?” Kaveh asks, affronted.
“Kaveh, based on that rant, you’re not going to particularly enjoy hearing this— but most of the time, it’s about Al-Haitham.”

Kaveh breaks up with Al-Haitham for like, a week. Barely.
