She’d only spoken to Mickey a couple of times but she’d warmed up to him a little since he had arrived. He was a part of Ian’s world and Ian was a part of Lip’s world and that made him part of her world.
There’s no harm in trying.
“I’m going out for a smoke.” he says, dismissing her invitation.

Only a lunatic would risk it, but people always say Ian is Monica’s son through and through. And if she's crazy enough to walk a tightrope for trouble, he can do the same for Mickey. He’ll do anything for Mickey, given the chance.
