Summary
“Buck!” Eddie was already moving.
Oxygen tank forgotten at Bobby’s feet, turnout coat already halfway off because he needed the range of motion to check on Buck. The world tunneled—sirens, voices, the puff of dust off every bootfall—down to one point: Buck’s face up close, eyes too bright, lashes caked with grit. “Hey. Hey, look at me.”
Buck tried.
He blinked slow, mouth parted, a smear of soot curving up his cheekbone. His lips were almost colorless under the dust.
“Eddie,” he managed, voice frayed into a rasp. “M’good.”
“Yeah? Prove it.”
Eddie’s palm found the back of Buck’s turnout, guided him sideways to the tailboard of the engine. “Sit down.”_____________
Buck's caught right in the middle of a structural collapse and when he stumbles out, well, Eddie has to make sure he's actually okay.
This is, like 4.5k words of Eddie checking over Buck, sorry!Bookmarked by Scenteddragon

Summary
“A week,” Eddie sighed. “We can do this, right?”
Eddie’s gaze was pleading, needing assurance and comfort. His eyebrows were pinched in the middle of his forehead and Buck wanted to reach out and smooth it out with his thumb. Instead, he said, “’Course we can. We’ve faced tsunamis, beenados, earthquakes, broken dams… hey, where do we think the Diaz Parents Staying For A Week ranks?”
“Most likely to end in death,” Eddie muttered.
Buck clicked his tongue as he pulled the bowls from the cabinet for the salad, “That’s the lightning strike, actually.”

The Diaz parents showing up unexpectedly to the shared Buckley-Diaz household leads to some unexpected confrontations, late night conversations, and over due confessions.

Summary
“No pets allowed, only service dogs,” The waiter tells them, his voice a little more firm than necessary as he flicks his eyes between Buck, Eddie, and where Maple quietly but attentively stands between Buck and Chris. Buck shifts the leash in his hand, raising an eyebrow as he and Eddie seem to have the same thought, both pointing to the patch on the lab’s navy blue harness that reads Service Dog and Do Not Touch in bold letters.
“It’s okay, she’s a service dog.” Buck and Eddie speak in unison, only further proving to Buck that they were thinking the same thing. The man takes one look at the black lab and then Chris and Buck, disregarding Chris’ crutches, and scoffs. Honest to god, scoffs. What the fuck?
“Either show me her certification or I’m calling the cops.” There is venom in his tone this time and Maple boops his thigh with more force, trying to alert him to Chris’ distress.
Or: Buck is dying to try a new restaurant so Eddie takes him and Chris, only to be refused service because of the service dog he has for his chronic pain. The Firefam finds out and decides to do something about it.

Summary
He wasn’t stupid. Despite the evidence that might testify against him, he really wasn't stupid. Eddie could put things together. He just didn't want to. Or rather, he didn't want it to be true.
Eddie was going into a heat.
He was going into a heat, and it felt like all those years where he was free from it had accumulated, and now he was hit with a current so strong that keeping afloat wasn’t an option. He was drowning, and he didn't know what to do.
Sharing space with Buck
and his titsmakes Eddie go into unexpected heat. Buck helps, because of course he does. Platonically. And then less platonically.Bookmarked by Scenteddragon

Summary
The start of every shift is the same, their little routine at the lockers where they stop being Buck and Eddie and become Firefighters Buckley and Diaz. Part of it's the uniform, same as always, the other part is this: Buck takes his silver wedding band off his finger and puts it safely in its little box in his locker, slipping on the regulation silicone ring that he only occasionally allows himself to get horny about.
Eddie opts to put his ring on the chain of his St. Christopher for safe keeping, hanging it on the hook Buck bought him for the purpose, next to the photos he's stuck on the inside door of his locker: Christopher and Shannon, Chris's most recent photo from school picture day, Buck and Eddie in their suits, at the altar, Bobby between them. At the start of every shift he presses his lips to the St. Christopher, to his wedding ring, one kiss and he's ready.
*
On shift and everyone keeps flirting with Eddie. It's driving Buck crazy.
