“Who was Crimson Tide?” She asked nervously. She along with a couple of students had noticed the slight change in their teacher when she was mentioned.
Present Mic’s face fell.
He crouched down and slipped off his glasses. The moistness was unmistakable.
“Crimson Tide was an amazing hero who was going to be a teacher here.” He said in a disturbingly quiet voice.
The class was filled with sickening silence. Heroes dying wasn’t uncommon, but the reality of its dangers hung on the class.
“She died last year.” He scratched his cheek and stood up, shoving his glasses on. “She was the real deal, ya dig. Truly Plus Ultra.” Mic said proudly with a reminiscent smile. “Just don’t talk to Eraser about her.”
