Gorou starts his first year of university in a new town fully expecting for his daily routine to consist of class, archery club, and his part-time job at a local pottery painting workshop. Maybe he'd be able to squeeze in some light reading and a few movie nights with his favourite twins, not much else.

“The best part is,” Aether says, like he’s conspiring a great plan to assassinate a political leader and not discussing something as inane as a weekend hangout between friends, “at the end of it all, they’re going stargazing. Stargazing, Lumine.”
“Woah,” Lumine breathes out, eyes wide. “That’s a hell of a first date.”
“I-it’s not a date!” Gorou defends, sitting up ramrod straight. “It’s—we’re just hanging out! He never mentioned a date or anything like that. We’re just, um. Bros.”
“Uh huh. Tell me, Lumine, have you ever gone stargazing with any of your bros?”
“Can’t say I have, Aether.”
They’re just friends. It’s a bro hangout. And if it is more, then that’ll be… fine. Good, even. But he has no expectations.

But he knows Kyoutani does—and for some reason, it makes some kind of dumb, smug pride swell in his chest, because Kyoutani doesn't even listen to Oikawa or their Chief half the time. Iwaizumi is the exception, but so is he, it seems.

Yahaba isn’t totally thrilled by Kyoutani’s prickly, loner attitude and his messy way of ghost hunting, but once you get past the glares and grunts, he’s not actually such a bad guy to work with. When their ghost hunts start to go wrong and a more sinister plot begins to reveal itself, Yahaba realizes he’s got to work together with Kyoutani before things get really out of hand.
