Summary
The man’s beauty and allure are like nothing Kaveh has ever seen before – palpably inhuman. Behind him, an unmoving, perpetual sunset casts a delicate light around his silhouette, encompassing him like the endless fields of flowers that encircle their bodies. Here, in dreaming, the air tastes sweet, and the fragrance of a bygone era wafts into Kaveh’s nose, devotedly mumbling unknowable promises in a language he does not recognize.
“Kaveh,” the man says to him, and the sound of his name falling from those elegant lips reminds him of the twinkling of little bells on a dancer’s costume, clear and precise.
The man places a hand on Kaveh’s cheek, leaning in closer and closer until he can feel the man’s breath on his own lips.
“Thank you for setting me free,” he says to Kaveh.
On a desert expedition, Kaveh stumbles upon a mysterious bottle where an ancient Jinni dwells.

Summary
Alhaitham is fast asleep on the middle couch—the only one able to contain his too-long legs. Half the cushions are on the floor. The stained glass windows diffuse the moonlight to soft greens and emeralds that kiss his skin and give his hair an almost bioluminescent glow where it hits the streaks of colour hidden amongst steel grey strands. The gem between his collarbones gleams like a cat's eye, startlingly reflective.
It's the most charming sight Kaveh's ever seen, even if there's a bit of drool escaping from the corner of Alhaitham's mouth.
Kaveh comes home after a long trip.

"That sounds more like love to me," Lambad says nonchalantly.
Kaveh points at him accusingly. "It is not love, it is turmoil. I am in turmoil."
Kaveh turns to Al-Haitham then, and part of him visibly softens at the sight. "Well, maybe part of it is love," he concedes. "I'm in love with you, Al-Haitham, did you know that?"
Al-Haitham, despite himself, smiles. It makes Kaveh's eyes widen. "I do know that, Kaveh. You told me a few nights ago, do you remember?"
"I think so."
"Good. Then you should remember that I told you to tell me that when you're sober, and maybe then I'll say it back."
Kaveh squints at him. "'Maybe?' What do you mean by 'maybe?' I have changed my mind. You are a bastard, and I am not in love with you."
There is no winning with Kaveh. But maybe, there is no losing either.
In which Kaveh keeps drunkenly confessing to Al-Haitham.
