Katsuki is the first one to get his soul mark from their class, which should bring a smug grin to his face, but all it does is gnaw at his insides even more.
He already knows his classmates are gonna go around telling everyone whose name they have on them as soon as they get ‘em, and while he would have been willing to tell someone like Eijirou or even Izuku if he pressed enough and his soulmate’s name wasn’t someone they already knew, he’s not so sure about it now.
Not when 'Shouto Todoroki' practically bores holes into his face the more he stares at the name.

With Midoriya's encouragement, Todoroki worked up the nerve to ask Bakugo for his playlist. Of course, Bakugo accused him of plotting something, but he handed it over nonetheless. It wasn’t easy, but when Todoroki finally got a taste of Bakugo’s world through those songs, something began to stir inside him. And maybe, just maybe, something in Bakugo too. But who knows?

He’s met with only more silence. All three of his friends look at him like he’s said something particularly absurd.
“We’re not dating.” He insists.
Kaminari’s eyebrows furrow. He hesitates before he leans across the table. “Eijiro…” He says slowly, “...Are you sure?”
