    Humans always had a hatred towards sirens, though Wilbur could never understand why. Maybe it was because they feared the power sirens held in their voices.

     

    When humans feared something, it always turned to hate. A burning, fiery, violent hate that made them blind. It drove them crazy.

     

    They'd blame it on the dangerous nature of sirens, but that wasn't true. Sirens weren't dangerous.

     

    But even so, the humans still hated them. Humans hated sirens like how oil hated water, poisoning it and contaminating the life within. Like two ends of the same magnets, pushing and pushing until one gives.

     

    It was that same kind of hate that had murdered his pod. That kind of hate that compelled them to drive sirens back into the sea with their blades and harpoons. That same kind of hate had almost killed the entire species.

     

    Or, Wilbur is a siren, which shouldn't be as much a problem for him as it is. After a... tiny accident, Wilbur has now found himself on the run from his past. Though, after getting captured, he now has to return to it, whether he wants to or not.
