Riki had every reason to know that wanting Jungwon was a sin.
The first was written in his blood. Half-demon, born of shadow and ashes, a creature the court only tolerated because the Queen had decided to save him and call him son. No Fae had ever dared to bond with a demon, not without being cast out or killed.
The second reason was far crueler: Jungwon belonged to Jay, the future King, and Riki’s brother in all but blood.In a kingdom where mating bonds were sacred, sealed by divine law and royal decree, love was supposed to be pure, strategic, and sanctioned. What grew between Riki and Jungwon was none of those things. It lived in glances stolen when no one was watching and touches that lingered too long to be called accidental.
At first, they told themselves it was harmless. Curiosity. A mild, temporary interest. Fate playing tricks.
But when every look began to burn, when every touch lingered like a confession, they both knew the truth.
