“For the last time,” Melissa starts, yanking the front door open without particularly caring whether whoever’s outside catches the whole sentence as she braces herself for the imminent flash of cameras. “Nothing fucking happened out there, we were just-” The rest of the words, however, die in her throat at the sight in front of her.
There’s no nosy asshole reporter standing on her porch with a microphone shoved in her face, asking the same invasive questions they’ve been bombarded with ever since the rescue, as the cool evening air comes rushing in. Instead, there’s Shauna Shipman.
