Summary
Steve and Robin move out of Hawkins and go to college after the Starcourt Mall incident. For the next three quiet years, Steve and Robin work at the main library - but to Steve’s utter disappointment, they get separated when Steve gets assigned to the newest branch of the school library, built inside the School of Engineering, Mathematics, and Sciences. It’s obviously subpar without Robin by his side, but the range of students that come in isn’t all that much different than the main library, and it’s still the same old boring job for Steve. Until, one day, Eddie Munson comes in.
Or, Steddie college AU that no one asked for.
Part I (Chs.1-8, 23K words) can be read as a standalone, chronicling their lives in the second half of 1989. Part II (Chs.9-20, 62K words) spans the entire year of 1990.
Now with a side story that takes place between ch.18 and 19!

Will had been there, wearing strangely tight blue jeans and a band tee of the Clash and slightly smudged black eyeliner and it was weird because Will never wore any of those things, so why would Mike's brain make them up, and then it got worse because Will had smiled at him, in the dream, in a way Will had never smiled at him before, and Mike had held his breath, in the dream, and watched as Will took off his shirt and – and – and –
Mike screwed his eyes shut, which didn't help, and tried to not think about Will without a shirt on, which didn't work, but he pretended like it did, anyway.
It just didn't make sense.

Summary
Steve felt the deeply rooted tug in his chest toward Eddie, to protect to save to help to do something. Anything. When Eddie spoke, all thoughts cleared except for one. Save him.

In so many years of fighting all the Upside Down could give him, Steve had only felt this towards one person when their life was in danger. Nancy, back when it all started and he didn’t know jackshit but he knew he had to save Nancy. In the midst of the rush of thoughts, one came into clarity.
Don’t lose him.
Steve saves Eddie and keeps saving him again and again.
