After Astarion completes the Rite of Profane Ascension, Tav decides she prefers the devil she knows. She's hardly thrilled about it, but she'd rather give up the Crown of Karsus to Raphael than lose any autonomy to the Ascendant or the Emperor. Besides, making and serving a new god out of someone whose company she doesn't mind is hardly the worst fate she can imagine for herself, so long as her current god continues allowing her the freedom to do so.

The blonde was pretty sure he had heard something wrong, considering it sounded like the ex-general had admitted to underestimating him, which...what the fuck? Definitely not something that sociopathic megalomaniac would say. Never mind something about a mate which made no logical sense at all.
