“No,” Achilles said in a solid voice. “My Patroclus is still here. I can see him, inside of you. I was wrong when I said you were dead to me, I can sense that his soul still lingers in this body,” Achilles gaze turned dangerous, his pupils thin, and Patroclus felt a shiver of something running down his spine. “I know you are there, Patroclus. I am determined to bring you back.”

In those few months since the war against Maliwan had become far easier to handle, he had heard less from Zer0. Of course before the war, Rhys was used to radio silence from his Assassin for months before any news would come up, he trusted Zer0 to do the job he hired them for, but due to this 'company merger' he tended to hear from Zer0 far more often. After Katagawa's defeat, however, Zer0 had moved up to Sanctuary to help the Crimson Raiders with their whole Calypso Twins issue. Rhys got it, he had always respected them for their loyalty, and Sanctuary was probably more of a family to Zer0 than their employer. Though Rhys couldn't help that nagging feeling that he felt a bit cheated.

After Handsome Jack got royally fucked by the vault hunters 2.0, Pandora's novelty is starting to wear off, or at least Zer0 thinks so. With the biggest dickbag in the universe buried 206 ft under, killing entire towns of bandits and looting their corpses just isn't enough to entertain Zero. They need something new, a challenge- and Gaige has the perfect one.
