“I have a headache, douchebag!”
Fir snatches the little box from the cupboard and hurls it at Tanner full force. It hits him squarely on cheek with a satisfying thuck. “It’s called Advil, asshole!”

Tanner scrambled for his phone and accidentally elbowed the man next to him, who jerked awake.
“Wha-?”
“Tickets, please."
“Sorry,” mumbled his neighbour. The American accent was unmistakable in a quiet train carriage passing through rural England. The hair on the side of his head stuck up haphazardly from leaning against the window, and Tanner wanted to reach out and pat it down.
He stuck out a hand. “Tanner.”
“Fir,” was the reply.
