Armin feels his face twist into a snarl briefly, but when he looks at Eren, his eyes catch on his and Mikasa’s tangled hands. Hers are squirming under his grip, and then pull against her stomach in a gesture that makes Armin dizzy for a moment. He sees again that line of red, but—it’s not blood.
When he sees what it actually is, he almost wishes it was.
“‘M fine,” Mikasa says. Her breath is coming too fast, too shallow. “Just—cold…”Eren’s eyes shine with wonder, locked on their joint hands and what’s below them; the red spilling out from the gaps in her buttons.
That is not right, Armin thinks, gut churning. That shouldn’t be happening.
But at the same time, isn’t that just the same old story?***

He’s not particularly partial to any seasons—winters don’t come too harsh for his disposition, and he himself is somewhat heat-resistant during the summers, though he would take colder showers throughout, mostly for others’ sake. Even he isn’t immune to the joys that spring brings, though the more rainy days towards the end of it often hampers his pursuits when he needs to use his vision. Autumn is a comfortable lull of period, usually, except for the harvest season of the vineyard during the beginning when he would often wish to divide himself in three, at the very least, to attend to every business that would pile relentlessly. But, if he has to pick one—perhaps late autumn is amongst his favorite.
If only because itʼs when Jean often sleeps in.

Summary
In a society where marriage is a business and a woman is a means of property, Jean wishes to do as she wishes and become a knight maiden for the kingdom of Mondstadt. Those very dreams are crushed when she is betrothed to the crown prince, Diluc Ragnvindr. However, the very same marriage she thought would cage her is more convoluted than she initially thought and had opened a door of possibilities.
