Ponyboy Curtis and Curly Shepard were like matches ready to start a fire when together.
Pony always felt different when Curly was around. More mischievous, daring, bold, and competitive (though some might say just plain stupid). He was ready to try anything when he was around.
They’ve always had this sort of frenemy relationship. Some who didn’t know them thought that it was a serious rivalry—considering the Shepard gang and the Curtis gang had one in the past. But it was apparent to anyone that they didn’t really hate each other. In fact- far from it.
They were best friends almost. Even if they both did deny it. Curly would always annoy Pony and Pony would always tell him off, yet doing nothing about it.
