Summary
Vincent was about halfway through the video before the door to his dorm swung wide open and his roommate, Alastor Debray Hartfelt, stomped inside before slamming the door shut.
He watched as his roomie dumped his bag on his bed, muttering something under his breath which Vincent recognised was something in french.
Great, he thought my situationship is in a shitty mood.

Summary
Twenty-seven-years-old Vincent Whittman is a freshly promoted New's Anchor at the local TV station, a hopelessly clumsy single father to his beloved daughter Victoria by day, and... a serial killer by night, whose career is being slowly built on murders of his higher-ups. Wanting to give Victoria the childhood she deserves, as he's absent most of the days due to work and other activities, he enrolls her in a private, family run nursery school, where she quickly grows attached to one of the teachers - the endlessly patient and kind Alastor. The man that's apparently going to completely change, ruin and better his life, all at once.

Summary
To unravel the mind of a man-turned-serial killer in early twentieth-century New Orleans, this story begins with a poor, moody, and exhausted teenage Alastor living with his grandmother.
While he tries to build a life for himself from rock bottom, he faces the painful memories of his childhood. Moreover, his mind cruelly stores new memories, which repeat and haunt his mind each time life goes awry for him. An adulthood of jazz, cocktails, the eventual buzz of the radio and, most predictably, the blood he paints the city with. Every year of his life offers some kind of chaos, but he supposes that isn't anything new in the thriving city down by the river; heartbreak, constant grief, the only Blues he never wanted to play.
But the world is just a stage, isn’t it? And a stage is a world of entertainment.
Born in 1899, died in 1933, this is the story of how Mama’s boy turned his own heart stone-cold.

Part of the Bureau of Investigation, Y/N is assigned a new case that takes them to the turbulent South— specifically a city called New Orleans. Determined to succeed, they aim to uncover and catch the rising serial killer known as the Bayou Butcher. Thankfully, they encounter some help along the way.
—
“Think of it this way, my dear– wouldn’t you rather have the assistance of a man who’s informed about this wonderful city?”
They narrowed their eyes, but the radio host’s charming smile simply widened.
“Civilians should not be involved in investigating criminal cases.”
“Oh, but Agent…” Alastor paused, his gaze glinting faintly behind his round glasses. “I already am.”

Summary
New Orleans, 1933.
Vincent Whittman’s assignment (punishment) seems simple enough: recruit Mr. Alastor Hartfelt, the city’s famed radio star.
But his trip derails the moment he meets the man dressed in a smile too sharp, with secrets too deep, and a presence that hums with something far beyond him.
One broken ritual binds them for decades, pulling them back to each other again and again, to the one soul neither can quite break away from.- Language:
