Ever since Delilah Briarwood had struck her with magic during the Sovereign’s reception party, Pike had quietly known about the disturbingly tall shadow-at-the-back-of-her-mind. That was what she had called it; any other name seemed too permanent, too real.
Pike had heard of the superstition that if one gave something a name, it became a real figure, unwilling to leave. Despite being clearly well into her adult years, it seemed that some part of her still believed in such things. And who could blame her? She had seen it several times, often just standing menacingly in the distance, staring her down like a hungry beast. She had felt its presence, its sense of hunger and intensity warf off of its body like heatwaves, and in that moment, through its hissing, she heard one word: “Pike.”

Nami clenches her jaw, tries to smile, fails, and settles on a badly-disguised grimace. “You're saying you wanna sample the goods?”
Robin finally drags her eyes away from Sanji, who is unknowingly offering them quite the view of his backside squeezed in his tailored pants. “I'm saying, why haven't you?”It’s like a lighting bolt shot directly through her spine. “W-well,” Nami chokes out, sweating cold under Robin’s gentle but unwavering gaze. “Because he's Sanji! We're crewmates!”
All she gets in response from Robin is a shrug, and Nami feels even more flustered in the face of her total nonchalance. “So?”A version of events where Sanji has enough game to pull a woman on every island they visit, and Nami watches from the sidelines as it becomes increasingly difficult to say no to a man everyone else is saying yes to—a man who would prefer her above anyone else.

After the Whole Cake Island events, Nami finds herself struggling with acknowledging her feelings for Sanji. She already knew their relationship would never be the same, but the guilt and fear of almost losing him makes things even harder for her.
Not able to stand their awkward situation anymore, she finally decides to talk things over with the cook, only to find him in rather similar, if not worse, conditions than hers.If only they knew how things would turn out, their problems would've been solved way sooner.
