“Slower.” Lena sounds just the tiniest bit breathless, and her thighs are trembling, but her gaze is steely and sure.
Kara blinks, licking her lips and digging her nails into Lena’s thighs. “But, I thought - I thought you had a conference call?”
“I do.”
The implication sets in, and Kara can actually feel her own hips stuttering in response to the idea like some kind of Pavlovian muscle memory. Lena is going to take her conference call and fight for the fate of her company, and Kara is going to kneel here under her very open desk and make her come.

Lena has the world’s most stressful week, and Kara wants to help. And, if she maybe kind of likes it when Lena bosses her around? Well…that’s just a convenient bonus.

The next time the blonde rides past the stands, Lena can’t help but test the waters – she removes her sunglasses and stretches casually, revealing a tiny sliver of midriff. The girl’s eyes widen visibly, and her grip on the mallet slackens.
Internally, Lena is ecstatic. Externally, her expression is neutral, her hair ruffling slightly as she fans herself with a programme.The secret joy is cut off abruptly when the girl flies dramatically over the neck of her horse, landing in a tangled heap on the grass.
OR
When Lena begrudgingly attended a charity polo game to appease her mother, she expected a long afternoon full of bad hors d’oeuvres and boring people. What she gets is Kara Danvers, who shows her how fun polo can be.

Summary
It’s not that Kara doesn’t want to repair the broken bridge between Supergirl and Lena-- quite the opposite, in fact, but Lena had been excruciatingly clear with how she felt about Supergirl now. Kara had reeled from those words days after. They settled deep in her chest and crackle with pain every time she breathes. They are a grim reminder of what Kara had done, and what she continues to do. Mrs. Arias had been right; she could bury it deeper and deeper, but it would always come back to blow up in her face at triple the strength.
She’s caught between love and hate, and it’s a very odd position to be in.
