Summary
“Oh, Doctor,” Aventurine said, still chuckling. “Does it bother you to be called Master by someone like me?”
“Nonsense,” Ratio replied with a scoff; the reply came off a bit too quickly, but Aventurine was willing to shrug it off. “I’m just saying, if you insist on calling someone by their title, then use the right one.”
“But you are my Master, and I am your Servant. It’s only appropriate, no?”Another amused laughter escaped Aventurine’s lips hearing the defensive response from the doctor. So it does bother him, he thought. In his mind, Aventurine imagined Ratio reading all the stuff about him before he performed the summoning ritual; he could see that Ratio was a kind of person who would plan and prepare everything, and that included knowing everything he could about the Servant he was about to summon.
Aventurine had never read any modern books about himself, but he could imagine some people writing about exaggerated sob stories.
“Okay, Doctor.”

Summary
The man bristled, his gaze darting around with nervous uncertainty. “What’s the catch?” His tone was wary and thick with distrust.
“As I said,” Veritas gripped his sleeve, trying to temper his frustration, “you will be my lab assistant.” He paused. “This does mean that you will take orders from me, but it will be as an employer, not a master. You maintain the right to refuse and leave my company at any time, however, as one with far more experience in navigating the real world, I would not advise doing so until you have a stronger foundation.”
“...” The former slave’s expression flattened into something difficult to read. He almost looked like a different person altogether without his usual facade of faux-confidence. “You’re a strange man, doctor.”
“So I’ve been told.”
--
Ratio is 'gifted' a slave. Even though he frees the man from his service immediately upon arrival, he can't help but feel responsible for the well-being of a person with nowhere else to go.
So, in lieu of any better ideas, he takes the former slave on as his lab assistant. Just until he gets back on his feet, of course.

Summary
“What’s this?” Eijun asks, dumbfounded.
“It’s a Valentine’s Day note,” Kuramochi says seriously. “Someone must have slipped it under the door this morning.”
“For me?” Eijun gapes.
“It’s got your name on it,” Kuramochi deadpans.
Eijun carefully opens the envelope and is hit with a strong whiff of the heady scent the entire thing seems to be soaked in. He pulls out a note from within, printed on a pink mini memo pad complete with a little bear holding a red heart in the bottom left corner, and a bunch more pink and red hearts adorning the border of the page.
In the centre, it reads: You’re a HOME RUN.
Eijun squints at the note, reads it a few times, before he declares, “I don’t get it.”
For the first time in his life, Eijun wakes up amidst confusion to a Valentine's Day note that is so cute he doesn't think it could possibly be for him. But what he thinks is probably a mistake at first, turns into a day filled with teasing embarrassment, surprises around every corner, and a whole lot of gratuitous baseball puns.
