Summary
Shin turns away from Ahsoka Tano’s outstretched hand and flees. She is the enemy. Ezra Bridger is the enemy. Sabine Wren is the enemy. At best, they would take her captive; at worst, her life would be forfeit. They had no incentive to ‘help’ her at all. She has done nothing to endear herself to them - in fact, she had even come close to killing one of their number. Shin will not let herself fall into their trap.
But if they had truly wanted her dead, why not chase after her? Better yet, why had Tano not already cut her down? As much as Shin loathes to admit it, the Togruta outclasses her in every way imaginable.
Shin has no answer. She does not let herself think that the former Jedi was being sincere, and that she turned away from an alternative to this crushing loneliness for no reason.
She does not let herself think at all, for she fears that she will break if she does. However, she cannot stop the thoughts as they surge forth, as if from a burst dam.
She hates this. She hates that she ran. She hates that Tano stopped Sabine from running after her. She hates the disappointed look in Sabine’s eyes, and she hates that she thinks about the Mandalorian at all.
