Summary
It's a relief, in a way, to finally know what the fuck's been going on with her body. Though, that relief only goes so far considering Sabine's still no closer to figuring out what to do about it. How to fix it.
And she does need to fix it.
Like hell she's going to spend the rest of her days connected to Shin Hati. That most definitely falls under the category of cruel and unusual punishment and Sabine honestly doesn't think she's been bad enough in life to deserve it. Sure, she's no angel. But she's not the literal spawn of Satan either.

Summary
Shin turns away from Ahsoka Tano’s outstretched hand and flees. She is the enemy. Ezra Bridger is the enemy. Sabine Wren is the enemy. At best, they would take her captive; at worst, her life would be forfeit. They had no incentive to ‘help’ her at all. She has done nothing to endear herself to them - in fact, she had even come close to killing one of their number. Shin will not let herself fall into their trap.
But if they had truly wanted her dead, why not chase after her? Better yet, why had Tano not already cut her down? As much as Shin loathes to admit it, the Togruta outclasses her in every way imaginable.
Shin has no answer. She does not let herself think that the former Jedi was being sincere, and that she turned away from an alternative to this crushing loneliness for no reason.
She does not let herself think at all, for she fears that she will break if she does. However, she cannot stop the thoughts as they surge forth, as if from a burst dam.
She hates this. She hates that she ran. She hates that Tano stopped Sabine from running after her. She hates the disappointed look in Sabine’s eyes, and she hates that she thinks about the Mandalorian at all.

Sabine turned from the counter to place the whiskey glasses on the table. Instead, she found Shin, standing inches from her. The breath hitched in her chest at their sudden proximity and the electrifying energy that was crackling wildly in the narrow space between them. Shin’s mesmerising blue eyes were a deep ocean of turmoil and it only took seconds for Sabine to drown in them.
Holding Sabine's gaze unflinchingly, Shin silently took the glasses from her and discarded them on the counter behind her, to which her back was now pressed. Her breathing steady, she moved devastatingly slowly—as if Sabine were a spooked animal that might bolt at any minute. Shin kept one hand on the counter, and reached up with her other to hold Sabine’s cheek in a tender caress. Her stormy blue eyes studying Sabine's expression attentively for any signs that she might protest to the sudden and unprecedented intimacy she had initiated.
She found none.
After returning from Peridea, Sabine and Shin spend one last night together before the New Republic decides their fate, and they must deal with the consequences of their actions.

Shin’s attention is now fully fixed on Thrawn, waiting for him to say something else, perhaps why this is necessary. Baylan nods, and turns towards the doorway inside. Shin assumes he is going to prepare himself for the journey ahead, but she can’t bring herself to move with him yet. She does not understand why Thrawn is set on destroying Wren and/or Bridger if they play such a small part in his mission. Besides, Peridia having so little to offer, she doesn’t imagine the rebels would get very far on their own anyway.
“It does not take Jedi mind tricks to sense you are hesitant, young one.” His voice has turned hard. “You will go after them. When you have located them, send through the coordinates and await my order.”
