Katsuki, newly crowned king of Yuuei, lives a life set in stone. Determined to be the best ruler, he strives to follow the same path as his parents. But the decisions of the kingdom and his own life are not truly his to make and the more he feels like a puppet with the strings being pulled behind the scenes, the more he feels out of control.
Badly Injured in a battle, he finds himself stumbling through the forests of Yuuei, which have a reputation for being dangerous and filled with unknown magic.
Izuku, a loner omega dwelling in the forest, lives a life stalked by death. Everything he’s ever loved he’s lost and he has long since decided that giving up on loving others is his best option to keep himself from getting hurt. He keeps a careful distance between himself and the rest of the world but when the king shows up at his doorstep half dead, he’s determined not to let another person die under his watch.

Katsuki's best man speech for Izuku and Ochaco's wedding had been prepared for months, memorized down to the punctuation, and all meticulously written on small cards he has neatly tucked into the pocket of his tux.
He goes through the motions of the wedding exactly as planned. Everything going off without a hitch.
Until he gets on stage and opens mouth. He doesn't make it very far before his feelings for Izuku start spilling from him, the cards in his hand forgotten.

“Don’t cry, Kacchan. I’m right here,” Izuku said with a gentle smile as his fingers gently wiped away Katsuki’s tears.
Izuku stood over him in the vast white landscape of nothing as Katsuki stayed kneeled before him.
He tried to speak, tried to tell him how much he missed him. All he wanted was to talk to him, to let the words he’d been wanting to say spill out of his mouth. But he was cursed to never speak in this place. Only able to watch as Izuku smiled sadly and wiped his tears.
“I’m right here, It’s okay,” Izuku cooed and when Katsuki blinked he once again opened his eyes to his dark, empty dorm room. Barely able to see the blurry ceiling through his onslaught of tears.

Everyday Katsuki leaves Izuku a voicemail while he's teaching his class and everyday Izuku looks forward to listening to it during his lunch break.
He hasn't seen Katsuki in a while, but these recordings with little details on his life as a pro hero are at least something to look forward to.
Except one day when the voicemail is a little different than usual and Izuku's day gets thrown into a frenzy.

Pro hero Katsuki Bakugou is #10 on the charts. He just so happens to also be the #1 underground boxer.
If you were to ask him how he was doing, he'd say he was fine no matter how much that seemed to be a lie. His life was fine, if not a little monotonous.
Until the scrawny grown-up Izuku Midoriya who he hasn’t seen in 10 years shows up at his house, asking for boxing lessons.
Katsuki knows that Izuku doesn’t remember him. Not after the villain attack he had been in at 14 years old fucked up his memory. His parents moving them to another city right after that had been like kicking a downed man.
Now, at 25 years old, he’d still never tried to reconnect with him. Weighed down by the guilt of how he’d treated him and unable to apologize to someone who didn’t know him.
So, against all better judgement, he takes Izuku on as his only boxing student, indulging in his selfish desire to get to know him again. Putting his entire routine and life into a blender. Which is fine, he could use something new to look forward to.
There’s just one thing Katsuki can’t seem to ignore.
Izuku’s boyfriend pisses him off.

Izuku nodded and moved to walk out. Aizawa sensei put a hand on his shoulder. He stopped and looked up at him.
“He’s still not stable, okay? And usually we wouldn’t allow too many visitors in case he’s exposed to something that could make him worse. But I want you to know. Every time he’s woken up, he’s asked for you specifically."
--When Katsuki Bakguou is taken by a villain and barely escapes death, it has him reflecting on his relationships with people. During his recovery, he can't ignore the nagging, warm feeling in his chest whenever Izuku Midoriya is around. Which is a lot, considering he's the one taking care of Katsuki.
