Teasing yellowish-blue taunted
To reach it’s brother-
To the sun, it wanted to climb.
In its fury it burned,
That which it would otherwise protect
To not suffer the burn of rejection
It rather wring its own neck.
Come morning, the expectant sun smiles
On a now blackened horizon
Only to find
It’s smile to fade,
And it’s demeanor to darken
A landscape all life had left behind-
In the wake only ash could remain
