LOVE THISSSS. love seeing ash come to terms with the fact that MAYBEE he has a liking for this new kid who is extremely oblivious to things ash has deemed "normal" in his life. I love the new perspective eiji starts implanting in ash thru their phone conversations, and showing him that it is possible to have a sense of normalicy and domesticity in his life. Ash getting a moment to just breathe and live like a boy is my favorite trope in every bf fic I ever read, it brings me joy to see him enjoying himself and finding love both platonically and/or romantically ♡

11 14 25I really enjoyed this and being on the side where the main characters themselves knowingly cheated was so different and even I felt inner turmoil for Till because everything spiraled out of control.

Summary
Ash and Eiji are doing their best to heal. It's still pretty fucking difficult, though. Also, the whole hiking thing was Eiji's idea, obviously, but Ash doesn't mind nearly as much as he pretends to.
Or: One good day in the life of Eiji and Ash, interspersed with the memories of a lot of bad days. But that's alright, because the leopard makes it down the mountain in the end.

I dont even know how to begin articulating how this fic makes me feel. the use of the leopard and the mountain here is so genius. being able to say that he's slowly forgetting about it, not thinking about it as much, symbolizing that he's slowly finding peace and letting go of that past desperation. comparing eiji to a bird that's able to guide him down the mountain is so beautiful and such a good representation of their dynamic too. not to mention all their bantering throughout the climb, it had me smiling everytime.
love how the fic slowly unpacks ashs trauma as they climb the mountain, making the destination so significant, and making eiji be the one to say "shall we head back" first, leading ash down, contradicting ash's belief that he'd never make it back down/ back to a peaceful life , , so tender AHHHHHHHH

both of their reactions to eachother are so spot on I could clearly imagine their faces and tone HDJDJ this was so funny I couldn't stop laughing and smiling throughout the whole thing. binghe is so cute and endearing in such an odd way, I love him
