Summary
The furthest her memory goes, is sudden existence, gently held in a calloused hand. She is a bow, carved and curved in an elegant sweep of deep lacquered bamboo, with exactly seven, glittering gold arrows tipped in obsidian black. Her bowstring is a vibrant red, and as her master pucks the edge of it with careful fingers, she feels, in some visceral, instinctual way, that she is to obey, protect—die for her master. With a whisper, she is pushed and pulled in a bright shine of light, and left blinking in disorientation as she discovers that she is standing, that she has feet, a body, a spirit, a name.
“Kichi,” her master says her name, hand outstretched and lips pulled into a soft, knowing smile. “You may call me Father.”
—In which Hiyori is pulled to the far shore, and bound to a master with a name.

Summary
He straddles Kazuma without breaking apart once, hands searching for either side of his face to keep him close. There's a feel of desperation on his fingertips. They're twitching and they're squeezing, getting lost between his tousled hair in a suspiciously possessive grip, one that silently asks him to stay.
He shouldn't have to, because Kazuma has stayed for 500 years, and he gladly would for 500 more.

Summary
If there's one thing Yato hates more than anything, it's feeling left out.
He doesn't mind that Hiyori has a cute, pale blue Maternity Handbook, or that she looks happier than he's ever seen her when she's writing in it.
What he does mind is not having his own records, and since society and circumstance won't furnish him with one, he'll make his own damned book. As long as he keeps it to himself, there's nothing anyone can do to stop him.
