I currently don't have any plans to continue this work and will be moving on to other fics, but hope that you still enjoy it as a retelling of the start of ShB from the POV of a WoL who encounters a Crystal Exarch who hasn't quite kept it together during her absence
The Crystal Exarch has labored tirelessly for nigh on a century to call the Warrior of Light to Norvrandt. The First reflection is in need of salvation, the Source is once again on the brink of Calamity, and she alone can help two worlds avert such unthinkable tragedy.
As time passes, however, the Exarch finds himself unconcerned with salvation on such a grand scale. What was once love borders on obsession - and he decided long ago that he would see her returned to his side and his alone - or he will see to it that the star itself suffers the consequences.
After all, in a world engulfed by everlasting light, there must be a place for the darkness to retreat. And what better place than in the heart of a single man?

Under normal circumstances, this was the last thing he would have considered. Then again, under normal circumstances, he mused, this was the last thing that Emet-Selch would have asked him to do.
Allowing that neither of them could be presumed to be operating under any pretense of “normal” any longer, Hythlodaeus conceded. He would accept, he decided, if for no reason other than to preserve the seat of Azem while they awaited the return of its rightful holder, be it in this lifetime, or in the next.

Summary
A couple of decades after the Final Days, the daughter of the Warrior of Light seeks to make her own way in the world, earning her place on her own merit. Astrid Rhunvelt, with the aid of her godfather and mentor, Alphinaud Leveilleur, has successfully concealed her identity as the progeny of the Warrior of Light and has nearly completed her studies at the Studium in Old Sharlayan. Only a daunting and hazardous stint of fieldwork lies between her and her Archon ceremony. To facilitate her study, she's assigned a bodyguard she doesn't want, who is going to test her patience in the most unexpected ways.

Ever since the start of their official relationship, G'raha has noticed that R'alma is acting strangely with regard to their physical intimacy. Specifically, there is none, and the Warrior of Light seems bothered by it. But when G'raha arrives at R'alma's apartment one night to try to talk to him about it, he finds that he is in for a surprise -- and that talk is going to have to wait until tomorrow morning...
